Travel Tip Tuesday

Planning an international trip? Here’s an important passport tip.

  1. First, you should find the damn thing.
  2. Next, check the expiration date

According to the US Passport Service website, “many countries in the world require your passport have at least six months validity remaining beyond your visit before they will allow you to enter.”

Don’t get rejected arriving in some far away country and be forced to turn your sad ass around and go home. Check with the Department of State for info on your destination country. In all states for added fees you can get get a new or updated passport same day at Regional Passport Agencies. I’ve done it twice but those are stories for another time.

For more on this topic and others, check the US Passport Service website.
